Speed Regulation of a Permanent Magnet DC Motor with Sliding Mode Control Based on Washout Filter

The accuracy of control systems applied to motors is influenced by uncertainties and abrupt variations the load system parameters. Some robust strategies have been proposed in literature for responding disturbances uncertainties, parametric variations, non-linearities, adding complex rules considerable computational efforts. Therefore, this paper presents application a sliding mode method based on washout filter (SMC-w) speed permanent magnet DC motor. In addition, dynamic behavior SMC-w evaluated under changes reference torque. response signal torque were studied. results contrasted with conventional proportional integral derivative (PID) evaluate efficiency improvement SMC-w. qualitative shape transient current concerning symmetric controller, but values overshoot, settling time, steady-state error are different. This technique has great potential industrial as it controls efficiently low cost simple design, which benefits its implementation practical environments.
